What's the difference between cotton sanitary pads and bamboo pads?
These menstrual pads are made of cotton. It's a natural material rather than plush which is a synthetic material, so this makes it cooler against your skin. They are also more slimline, so if you prefer a more discreet pad or if you're buying for a child, teen or teenager, these are perfect!
They will also stay in place better as the cotton fabric tends to grip better.
The downside of being thinner is that they are a bit less absorbent, so if you have heavy flow periods, we'd recommend the bamboo plush instead.
Both types of period pad are vegan friendly.
How do I wear and wash cotton sanitary pads?
Popper into your knickers with plain grey side to body and patterned side to pants.
It's simple to wash your Cheeky® organic cotton period pads & pants:
- after wearing, soak in the period pad container with cold water
- machine wash on maximum 30c to avoid setting stains
- use a scoop of 'oxi' type stain remover to boost stain removal - avoid chlorine bleach

Machine wash cold (maximum 30 degrees) and then line dry. Never use bleach or fabric softener. Not suitable for tumble drying.
Tips for using Cheeky Pads:
Tight Pants
Firstly, try to wear fairly tight fitting pants. If you usually keep your old, saggy pants which have really seen better days for that time of the month, time to invest in some new ones! Tighter pants will help a cloth pad stay in place and avoid slippage. Cotton knickers are best or cotton / lycra mix.
Turn 180° if you suffer from slippage with Bamboo and Bamboo Charcoal pads
The soft outer plush fabric has some grip - if it is inserted against the nap of the fabric. If you notice that your pad is slipping, turn it around 180 degrees, front to back.
